Painted these specifically for healing, clarity, a distraction from worry, playfulness, and pure positive energy. Are you feeling it??
Why is it sooo good?
This summer has been one of my most favorite because of how clear and relaxed I felt throughout it. While I did stay off Social Media... maybe a bit too long, I'm happy with the side effect: a finished commission for a Hospital here in Austin, and a large collection of new paintings!
My husband and I are about to go on our Anniversary trip (6 years married!) next week, and I'm so happy to be leaving with a feeling of accomplishment. I'm looking forward to coming home with beautiful visions in my eyes and excited to see what work I produce from them. So excited!!
Now, enjoy the first glance at some of my latest work!!

As she drip-dries and transforms, I thought I would take a before shot... I don't have a name for her yet, but she is not complete so that checks out. I'll post a final shot once she is done!
"Where art comes from is a mystery. It comes unannounced. It has the quality of gift. The source from where it comes is hidden from us. Like all creativity, it stands us in possibility. It comes from impulse and dream, from raiding the inarticulate, from going below the floor of consciousness. To do this we must break free of the confines of the known and fixed. As artists we do this with our materials--with our hands. And in this confluence of mind and matter abstraction is not only relevant, it is essential."
Do you meditate?
Do you meditate? Thanks to my sister, #AmbrosiaTuft, I've been doing this AM Yoga routine for almost two decades. During this time, I calm my body and mind and often see colors. Recently, I was inspired to take these visual mediations and put them on a canvas (thanks, #LaRueEppler!!) I really had no idea how I was going to do it, and so, like any other painting I make, I put on my gloves and began. The first thing I thought to do was to place the colors I see, onto the canvas, anywhere my mind represented them, and then I just went bananas. :-) Here are some cool transitional shots!
They are incredibly peaceful to look at. Probably one of my sweetest canvases I've ever done. Both canvases were done entirely with my fingertips - no brushes or other tools. I really wanted to make every mark with deliberate purpose and feeling. I love how they came out! As it goes, they really should be seen in person.
There is nothing like a very lucid dream. You wake up, yet... still feel asleep... the dream sits around and you can't help but feast and enjoy it! Each canvas (2) is 36 x 12 x 1.5inches. http://bit.ly/StuffOfDreamsComboCanvas #CamilleCharlyArt #HappinessRules
“I had the pleasure of seeing “Indian Snow” in multiple stages as it was being created. Watching the transformation to what it is now, the final project hanging as a centerpiece in my home, has been amazing. The effect Camille has with paint… her ability to take 3 simple colors and change both the physical and emotional settings in a room is incredible. I will be keeping my eye out for my next piece!” - DJ Walter, Austin, TX
Thank you, DJ, for my art to be a part of your life!
I don't think this painting is done yet... but I love the Christmas feeling it already has to it! 🎄
MY BUDDY AND I MADE A TRADE THAT GOT ME A CUSTOM-MADE DRYING RACK FOR MY CANVAS! IT'S GORGEOUS, FUNCTIONAL, AND I SIMPLY LOVE IT!
So inspired from our trip to Italy this Fall. I love this painting! The colors and shapes remind me of boat rides along the Cinque Terre!
GLANCE A GLIMPSE OF MY LATEST COMPLETED CANVAS! I GOTTA SAY, IT IS STUNNING!! I SENT A PICTURE OF IT TO MY HUSBAND THE EVENING I FINISHED IT, AND HE LOVED IT, BUT THEN THE NEXT MORNING HE TEXTED ME THIS: "I CAN'T GET THAT PAINTING OUT OF MY HEAD, IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!" (ME = BLUSHING). WHEN I LOOK AT IT, I FEEL LIKE I'M SITTING ON A WHITE SANDY BEACH AT SUNSET, AND EVERYTHING IS SOFT AND CALM. PEOPLE!!! I'M IN ABSOLUTE LOVE WITH THIS HAPPY SUNSHINE FEEL-GOOD PAINTING!
